The main techniques taught at the 2009 summer
workshop were on Fold forming & Die forming.
The aim was not about finishing pieces of jewellery, these
were all more experienced jewellers and they will finish some
of the pieces they started back in their own studios. Lots of
time was spend just playing, seeing what the material would
do when treated another way. Fold forming is forging and hammering
different places produces very different results.
Patinas were another area we looked at. Samples were produced
and some people got as far as using it on some of their work.
The work below is just a fraction of what was made, most images
are of 'works in progress' When work gets finished we
might be able to re-photograph it (under better conditions)
and show it here. Keep checking back!
