Dichroic Glass Fusing
This time we're having
a look at glass, Dichroic sparkly glass!
There will be an Introduction
to Fusing glass for jewellery workshop at the end of
June and I would like to highlight the beautiful pieces
that are achievable in a short weekend workshop.
Have a look at some of the
beautiful fusing done by my students last year. (Images

Glass fusing is so easy,
most people are amazed at the number of gorgeous pieces
they produce in a weekend workshop.
Some of the things taught
in this class are:
How the cut glass
Clear capping Cabochons
Making a hole to turn a cab into a slider or bead
Incorporate silver wire
And we'll set one of the pieces of glass into PMC for
a finished pendant or earrings

The
PMC conference
will be held in Indiana (Purdue University) in July
2008. There will be a much larger Aussie presence this
year, last time there were only 2 of us! Why not come
and join us there, it's not too late to book! What an
exciting three days that will be!
At this conference there will be a new Metal clay announched;
Bronze Clay! Later to be followed by Copper Clay!
Those of you who have done my metalwork classes know
what beautiful effects can be achieved by combining
the different metals, so you can imagine I am very excited
to try it out.

Our
Studio is located in Brunswick (Vic)
It's on Sydney Rd, in a first floor office space and
is right in the middle of everything, with lots of eating
places and shops all around.
With the train (Jewell Station) only a 2 minute walk
away, and the tram (nr 19) stopping
nearly in front of the door, the studio is easy to get
to!
And if you're driving, there's lots of parking in the
car park of Barkly Square shopping centre, just behind
the studio.
PMC & Metalwork classes are conducted here most
weekends.
Precious Metal Clay workshops are a fun way to learn
how to work with this incredible new material and for
those wanting to try metalwork, weekend workshops are
a fast and easy way to get started.
New workshops & dates
are posted all the time, keep an eye on my workshop
page to see regular updates.
"A
fantastic and informative class! Two days were not
enough.
My imagination is running riot."

What is PMC?
Precious Metal Clay® is a revolutionary
new jewellery material.
You can shape it like you would normal clay, but when
it's fired
with a torch or in a kiln, your object is transformed
into 99% pure silver!
Anyone can use PMC, it can be shaped
like clay while it is wet,
you can add to it, sand and file it when it's dry.
After firing you can still work it like regular metal.
Because everything can be added before firing, there
is no need for soldering and simple, inexpensive tools
are used throughout the process.
